Although each image can be seen on birds, there are not even the birds important to Uwe Krahn, but the moods which produces the observed from below the flight of birds. Melancholy, loneliness, freedom, independence and respect at all times to the ground. The photographs were taken with a Diana F camera – a plastic camera from Hong Kong of the ’60s.

  1. Far too many repetitions in the series. And I think he could put more effort in the prints.
But hey, we all know Uwes pictures. I think one could find most of them in the forum here.

  2. Dietmar, I didnt know him before. ;-)

  3. Oliver,
Dietmar is right, I assume most of the people know my work here.

    Dietmar,
what means “more effort “in the prints ? Have you ever seen a print from me in “real” for example 1×1 Meter Baryt print from this series ?
Maybe you can give me some advice how to impove my prints, even when this prints are made together with Wolfgang Mörsch (maybe you know him)
Maybe you can help me to improve my Duka work….I am always willing to learn

But at the end, I think it is personal taste how you work out your prints in the duka, for me are the prints fine ;-)…
    What do you think ?

  4. what I want or try so say, I really tried my best to get good prints…
but maybe it is not good enough, therefore if you can help me to improve it ,would be nice
    thx

  5. Hi Uwe.

First, you didnt react on my opinion that you repeat too much. What do you think on that topic? For example take the pictures 3,4 and 5,6. What is your intention?

I am no good printer. All I say is just my personal impression.

    My critique:
The borders look way too dirty (hingeklatscht) and distract from the picture content.
The same with the so often very much exaggerated obvious burning. This makes the picture content look like it has some flaws/weakness you cover (kaschieren) with amateur tools. To me, in a well done 6×6 picture with well content, you should not see such burning such obvious.

The darkness you create with the overdone buring and borders prevents me as viewer to get access to your picture/content.
All what I get is some bad depressing mood but no message or similar.

You can say, its my unique style. Yes, I agree, this is great. But if this is all it is weak.
It is like printing a fine art print 100% technically perfect, but with no message but only boring content. The similar.

Why do you care what I say so much?

Did you know? Just read today.

  6. Hello Dietmar,
the intention is in the text below, what should I say ? It is your opinion.
When I make an exhibition about this series I take around 20 pictures from this series. So I can understand your point of view, in this case you know my pictures “only” from the hp

I care so much, because you said “I could much effort to the prints”, I had no idea what you mean with that. Now I understand more in detail what you want to say and what your personal taste of printing is, thx for that….assumed you have seen my prints.
Btw. the negatives are 4×4 ;-)…but this is not really important, I assume.

no, I did not know this

  7. Dietmar,
sorry for reacting now on you links in detail, I could not see the youtube link this afternoon.
The links have to do “Mainly” with births itself, to my understanding…?

To me, this links do not fit to my series….when you read the text underneath of the pictures.
But anyway, intersting to look at it. thx

    regards
    Uwe

  8. Some take photographs, others talk about photography.

Dietmar likes to talk about photography, but there are only a few exemplary photographs of him – at least he has shown so far.

So what are these comments worth?

Do not mind, Uwe. Walk on your way!

    Best wishes.

    Oliver

  9. Hallo Oliver,
